Hashtag best practice | How to use hashtags on social media?

If you aren’t using hashtags on social media, you need to start now! One way of drawing attention to your Instagram account is by using hashtags in the ‘Description’ section of each photo you upload. This enables the users to browse images they want to see, and it can get some good exposure for your post. Millions of people and brands rely on hashtags to expand their reach, organize their content, and participate in bigger conversations. Here are a few strategies for using hashtags appropriately and effectively to reach new customers and satisfy your existing base.

Don’t use irrelevant hashtags

Avoid misleading users and only post hashtags that directly relate to your post or content. Have you ever browsed a hashtag page on Instagram and noticed one that did not belong? Don’t be that person. People want to see content related to a hashtag that they are exploring. If they find your content with a relevant hashtag that they are interested in, they’ll be happy to stop by your profile for a look!

Create your own hashtags

On my list of tips to increase your followers through hashtags, the key thing is to develop your own tags. Thanks to this, you will differentiate yourself as well as…

  • Create expectation among users
  • Improve your positioning on a particular social network
  • Increase your visibility

But the most important thing of all is to turn that hashtag into a trending topic. Something you can achieve by conducting a specific contest or event. Increase your followers and clients with this method!

Keyword research

Instagram allows you to use only 30 hashtags within your post’s caption. However, many people recommend limiting the number of hashtags you use in the caption to less than 15. To find the keywords, you should do a keyword research. Search your keywords on Instagram and see what others are posting. If the majority of content is relevant to your post, and it is an active hashtag, use it! Just remember, research is key–don’t use hashtags that aren’t active

Using hashtags as part of your social media marketing strategy can help you take your engagement to the next level. Add these hashtag ideas to your posts, like and follow accounts using similar hashtags, and keep a consistent posting schedule to watch your social media engagement skyrocket.
