Influencer’s Story: How Can I Drive Traffic From My Ins?

Now everyone wants to be referred to as an “influencer.” Social media and internet  influencers range from cult industry bloggers to YouTube stars to local Instagrammers with shockingly impressive follower counts. However,  it can be tough to know how to kick off my influencer marketing career. It’s difficult for a micro influencer to  attract more clients and increase the conversion rate. Actually, I spent much more time attracting followers when I was a micro influencer. 

For years, I’ve wondered why Instagram doesn’t allow links elsewhere. Until recently, Instagram didn’t give me a ton of space to brand profiles with hashtags and profile handles — I could only link to my respective pages in photo captions. Websites are the only types of links I could put in my bio. 

The consequence is that my followers can’t find me on other platforms. Just because someone is following you on Instagram doesn’t mean they’re definitely following you on all of your other social profiles, too. Chances are, you’re creating at least slightly different content for your various platforms.

Stop being tied down to only one link in bio. Save the stress for more important things! Add 5-7 links and your feed to the link in the bio tool and you’re all set!

Some basic links in Instagram bio can be about:

  • Your brand website or a specific landing page
  • Social media profiles like fb, twitter,youtube
  • Videos, blogs, forms, or information center
  • Any specific piece of content or product 
  • Promotional material & marketing offers

While there are some influencers that are strategically active on Instagram, most social media influencers are prominent on multiple platforms. By strategically using this link, you can bring your followers to your blog, YouTube page, podcast, or any other page you’d like. This helps you make sure that your followers can find you on all platforms with ease.

Are you a brand ambassador or get paid to promote products or services? Chances are, you need to create captions where you talk about and promote the product or service that you are selling. Make it easy for your followers to become customers by adding a simple “link in bio” at the end of your caption. This makes the process as clear as possible for your followers and allows you to link to a mobile-optimized landing page that can benefit both you and the brand or company with whom you are partnered.
